Unclean! Unclean!

My feet ache. I suppose thought that it’s to be expected should the weight of an entertainment centre suddenly come to lie on top of them.

I was up till about 2 am assembling an entertainment centre deal at the new house. I spent a lot of the time bitching and complaining about how I had work in the morning, but in the end I had to stay to complete the thing since it’d be hard to move in new furniture and stuff with boxes of unassembled crap lying around the floor.

I think I’m still exhausted from the whole ordeal, but I’m feeling surprisingly upbeat.

=============

Funny deal. On the way to the new house, I saw one of those church marquee signs. I’m not sure whether or not double entendres are intentional in order to get people to feel guilty or not. Oh well. This is what the sign said:

You can’t become clean unless you
admit that you’re dirty

You know, somehow I’m imagining some sort of porn movie with this very VERY naughty nurse (with cleavage spilling all over the place) “taking care” of this sick guy in a cast.

Silly me.

and two hard boiled eggs later…

This whole week has been one crazy hectic mess of waiting for no-shows and being in the right place at any time. There have been many deliveries to our new house over this past week, but two of them have failed to come to be.

Let’s start with the fridge. On Monday my father had to be at the new place with a time frame of 1 to 5. He was waiting there patiently without any modes of entertainment. He brought a stereo, but had accidentally dropped it. By 5 he called Sears for an explanation of some sort. As it turns out, they had the fridge delivered to our apartment.

Dumb asses.

Yesterday, we were supposed to have a lot of furniture delivered. Because of the volume of traffic on North America’s busiest highway–Highway 401–they couldn’t deliver on time…meaning that pushed it to today.

That left my father to keep saying over and over: por nada…

Well, what can you do. You’ve got to take events as they come, and deal with them.

This craziness will soon come to an end.

Sometime.

More like home

The house was blessed today. The parish priest from the new church that we’ll be frequenting dropped by, did his thing, and had a bite to eat.

Overall, it seems that he’s a nice guy and I think we’ll be really comfortable at our new place of worship.

Our house is slowly getting full. As things are moved in it’s looking more and more like a home. To be honest, when it was first being built it didn’t look that large at all. I remember thinking how small the place was as we walked around inside the frame. Now that everything’s done and I can see people walking around it’s suddenly large. It’s larger than our current apartment (a given), and it’s larger than our old house.

I’m only in this apartment for another week before the big move date. I think I really need to do some serious packing.

Running around in circles

Ever feel like you’re just running around in circles trying to get something done, which absolutely no one has a clue about?

I hate that feeling.
Thing is…I have all the pieces to solve my problem, but they have to be modified to be used with a format that no one has finalized yet.

Excuse me…

Excuse me…what is it with people looking at my crotch?

Free and easy

I think my eating habits have changed. I’ve already mentioned that there are tons of snacks here around work. I think i’ve also mentioned the amount offruit here. There’s have a big fruit delivery that occurs every Monday. By Wednesday or Thrusday it’s all gone, probably except for this huge bag of grapefruit that this one guy keeps requesting. Anyway, within the past week I’ve made it a point to eat as much fruit as I can.

Strive for 5.

I’ve been eating lots of apples, oranges, bananas, etc. Let me tell you that I’ve been feeling way better since. Things have been “free and easy” since…if you catch my drift. It’s a definite start. I haven’t had any adverse effects yet, and I doubt I will–unless I go into some hyper detox mode.

At this moment, it’s 10 am, and I’ve already made it through two apples and an orange. I’m gonna keep this up, and continue to increase my cardio.

Let’s see where this takes me.

Lacked initiative

Kya…almost a week now?
Well, my voice has recovered. Monday and Tuesday were harsh. It felt like my voice was going to stay fucked up forever, but today is Saturday and I’m feeling fine.

My parents are out tonight dancing. Happy day. That leaves me here…to pack. I’ve been clearing out a lot of things in preparation for the big move (it’s two weeks away!) In the process I found some of my old evaluations from past work terms. My very first one said that I lacked initiative but that fact wasn’t a reflection of what I was capable of.

Oh, stab me right in the heart. I wasn’t particularly happy about that one. ^^ Things have greatly improved since then, and I’m glad.

It’s fun looking back at old stuff. I have to decide what to keep and what to toss. It hasn’t been too hard, but it sure is a lot of work.

I’m not weak

Ooh…where to begin.

Let’s start with the 6th/7th. These two days, I was helping out a coworker who was going frantic with a deadline. On Thursday I ended up staying until 8pm. That meant that I put in a 12 hour work day that time. I could swear that my eyes looked totally cracked that night. The following work day wasn’t really much better. Work continued on the coworker’s project, but at the same time I was being pulled in other directions to fix macros and fix script outputs, etc. I wasn’t feeling well at all that day, and I think it really showed. I’m sure I looked zoned out most of that day.

On Saturday, I needed a good break/getaway. I ended up going to the Ontario Science Centre. It was surely to be my demise, but more on that later. I decided to do the wheelchair race thing again. I decided to take the right one because from past experiences the right one was defective in someway and I wanted to prove myself wrong. Well, nope, I didn’t. I still lost miserably. Then again, from what I saw in subsequent races the right chair lost each time. Meh, who am I to argue. It’s not like anyone’s going to believe me anyway.

I’m not weak.

Anyway…you know, they took out the Food Exhibit area. I was not happy about that. That was a damn good area to visit. At about 5pm we went to see an Omnimax film: Shackleton’s Antarctic Adventure, narrated by Kevin Spacey. That theatre was pretty nifty. I would’ve totally enjoyed it if it wasn’t for the little girl behind me kicking my seat. I swear, she kicked my head at one point. Being that she was really young I couldn’tdo much but glare at her parents. Oh well.

Afterwards we went for teppenyaki at “Memories of Japan.” Teppenyaki is where they cook the food on the grill right in front of you. Our chef wasn’t as active, talkative, or lewd as some of the other chefs (one in particular was all of the above) but he did a decent job. I enjoyed eating there.

Now…bad news, I seem to have misplaced my sunglasses. I have no idea where they would’ve gone. They were in my inside jacket pocket last time I had paid attention to them. Great. Another loss. 2003 is a great year so far.

Anyway, whining aside, that day’s event have degraded my health greatly. My voice was practically gone Sunday morning. Right now, it’s back to being particularly hoarse. I’ve finally taken a day off of work to go the doctor. It’s about time too. I’ve ignored my health long enough. I got my antibiotics, and I’m glad that I can start combatting my thick yellow mucus. Besides the sore throat, I had this huge headache earlier today. It started here at the apartment with the sounds of drilling. The drilling was to reveal water piped on the Penthouse floor, the 11th floor, and the basement. Besides the toilet upgrades they’re aparently making sure the water system was all good.

Oh yeah…they replaced our toilets today. The new ones go down with a big BA-WOOSH. It almost seems like the world is going to end (or something). It’s much different from the “Venice is flooding slowly” models we had before. I’m quite pleased. Too bad I’m moving soon.

Hell, what am I talking about? I want to move. Today my family and I went to the new house for the inspection tour. By the end of it all problems were pointed out and ready for correction. Our moving date has been set for March 1st. I’m so ready to move in.
