Ooh…where to begin.
Let’s start with the 6th/7th. These two days, I was helping out a coworker who was going frantic with a deadline. On Thursday I ended up staying until 8pm. That meant that I put in a 12 hour work day that time. I could swear that my eyes looked totally cracked that night. The following work day wasn’t really much better. Work continued on the coworker’s project, but at the same time I was being pulled in other directions to fix macros and fix script outputs, etc. I wasn’t feeling well at all that day, and I think it really showed. I’m sure I looked zoned out most of that day.
On Saturday, I needed a good break/getaway. I ended up going to the Ontario Science Centre. It was surely to be my demise, but more on that later. I decided to do the wheelchair race thing again. I decided to take the right one because from past experiences the right one was defective in someway and I wanted to prove myself wrong. Well, nope, I didn’t. I still lost miserably. Then again, from what I saw in subsequent races the right chair lost each time. Meh, who am I to argue. It’s not like anyone’s going to believe me anyway.
I’m not weak.
Anyway…you know, they took out the Food Exhibit area. I was not happy about that. That was a damn good area to visit. At about 5pm we went to see an Omnimax film: Shackleton’s Antarctic Adventure, narrated by Kevin Spacey. That theatre was pretty nifty. I would’ve totally enjoyed it if it wasn’t for the little girl behind me kicking my seat. I swear, she kicked my head at one point. Being that she was really young I couldn’tdo much but glare at her parents. Oh well.
Afterwards we went for teppenyaki at “Memories of Japan.” Teppenyaki is where they cook the food on the grill right in front of you. Our chef wasn’t as active, talkative, or lewd as some of the other chefs (one in particular was all of the above) but he did a decent job. I enjoyed eating there.
Now…bad news, I seem to have misplaced my sunglasses. I have no idea where they would’ve gone. They were in my inside jacket pocket last time I had paid attention to them. Great. Another loss. 2003 is a great year so far.
Anyway, whining aside, that day’s event have degraded my health greatly. My voice was practically gone Sunday morning. Right now, it’s back to being particularly hoarse. I’ve finally taken a day off of work to go the doctor. It’s about time too. I’ve ignored my health long enough. I got my antibiotics, and I’m glad that I can start combatting my thick yellow mucus. Besides the sore throat, I had this huge headache earlier today. It started here at the apartment with the sounds of drilling. The drilling was to reveal water piped on the Penthouse floor, the 11th floor, and the basement. Besides the toilet upgrades they’re aparently making sure the water system was all good.
Oh yeah…they replaced our toilets today. The new ones go down with a big BA-WOOSH. It almost seems like the world is going to end (or something). It’s much different from the “Venice is flooding slowly” models we had before. I’m quite pleased. Too bad I’m moving soon.
Hell, what am I talking about? I want to move. Today my family and I went to the new house for the inspection tour. By the end of it all problems were pointed out and ready for correction. Our moving date has been set for March 1st. I’m so ready to move in.
