Well, it’s getting close to a month now since I requested my DSL service to be moved from Waterloo back home. As of now I still haven’t been moved. Apparently there’s no place to plug me in at the central office. Well isn’t that great?
They’ve been nice enough to give me a free month of dial up, mind you, it’s only 10 hours worth. They’ve suggested some other arrangements that would give 3 months of free unlimited dial up as well, but as of yet I haven’t taken them up on that offer–after all I think I’ve got about 7.5 hrs left. I’m content to just sit patiently and wait for my modem to stop blinking.
I believe I’m way too nice of a customer. If it were anyone else I’m sure they’d be bitching and screaming at the company. Besides Bell Sympatico, the other big competitor in the market is Rogers Cable. Now, I know that a lot of people around here use Rogers as their provider. However, I’m still uneducated about their policy when moving. I take my Internet back and forth from University, so if it’s going to be a big problem, then I’d rather not go with that company. Also, Rogers is notoriously slow in Waterloo. It’s silly. There’s a certain region around the University where cable Internet just crawls along. Sympatico DSL on the other hand is just fine.
Also, I’d rather not go through the hassle of changing my established email address. It’s a pain to have to start over.
At this point I can only hope that they’ll get their act together. I’m not about to switch…but I realize that what’s going on isn’t right either.
I’m way too nice.
