Thanks for the good info, Jamaica. :)

I don't think it' was one-sided, but there was definitely sensitivity to noise. My father was singing karaoke in the living room and it was making me hurt.

I think I may be good to go tomorrow. I'm still feeling a bit dizzy right now, but I think it'll be gone by tomorrow.

Migraines can develop at any point in your life, and they can be pretty debilitating. Dizziness is not uncommon, though it's not one of the "official" symptoms (or, I don't think so); if you had nausea and sensistivity to light/sound, and the pain in your head was one-sided, I'd say you probably had a migraine and should get to a doctor pretty quickly in case you have another.

If the pain went around your head, instead of being one-sided, it's probably a hatband headache, which isn't treatable in the same way as a migraine.

You should google cluster headaches and sinus headaches to rule out the possibility of those. You might have a sinus headache, which would be unfortunate, but not nearly as scary as cluster headaches. It doesn't sound like you have those, because your face hasn't swelled up, but it's a possibility.

If it isn't any of those (which, I'll admit, it doesn't seem like any of the major pathological headaches to me), then you're probably just sick with a bad head cold, and should stay home, stay hydrated, and wait.
