Today was my first day of work over at Telus. It was sort of uneventful. I arrived in reception on time to find several students already there waiting. They were oddly silent. It took me a few moments to get their names, programs and introduce myself properly, and get them talking.
Because that’s just the type of person I am.
Anyway. I spoke with my department manager for a good long while. He commented on how the whole telecom industry was quite “incestuous”, meaning that after a while, anyone you’ll meet in any telecommunications company will be someone you’ve probably met at another company at some point in the past. I laughed out loud at the ridiculousness of the word “incestuous”.
