Kick here!

I’ve come home for a short break before my next class. As I plopped down onto my chair, I suddenly realized how I’ve been generally unhappy as of the past day or two. Yesterday in particular went from decent to a total piece of shit on a stick. I stayed up until 2 a.m. last night with Raluca worrying about things we shouldn’t have to worry about. It’s now the next day, and I’m still riding on several lows that just won’t disappear.

Anyway, let’s start off with some good points. Japanese class is more fun than I thought it would be. It consists of an hour of class with Maruoka-sensei, followed by two hours of tutorials by Koga-san. Time flew by as we were practicing dialogue. Hajimemashite! As Henrick and I were about to leave, someone called out my name. It took me a moment to get my thoughts together and figure out who it was. As it turns out, Karen, a friend of Raien and Yuki, was also in the class. Now, I had thought that she had already graduated, so, it didn’t necessarily click that it was her, right away. In any case, seeing her and talking to her was refreshing. It’s always fun to see people that you hadn’t talked to in a long while. Who knows. Maybe Karen could become another good friend of mine.

I met up with Raluca in my next class, after which we went to Curry in a Hurry. Everything was going right. On the way home, however, things started sprialling downwards. She complained briefly about walking on the outside on the chance that some car would splash us. I insisted to her that no driver would be bastard-like and intentionally splash us. Of course, when you make statements like that, it’s like you’re painting a huge cosmic arrow sign with bells and whistles on your ass stating, “KICK HERE!” We got heavily splashed by some bastard who intentionally went out of their way to hit the big puddles on the side of the road. Figures.

When we got home, we saw a letter on the stairs. It was from the landlord stating that there is only one parking space per house. Anyone parking in a non-assigned spot would be ticketed. Of course, that’s a huge problem considering that we had three cars. Upon reading it, there was a big discussion in the house regarding the spaces. Chris was stating from experience that after a while, there would be some empty spots. Meanwhile though, there were a glut of cars in the lot, with many parking at the side because of people taking there spots. The general concensus among us was to just ride out the storm and hope that something would open up. After making that resolution, we relaxed just a tad. However, Raluca and I were still full of doubts. At about 10, for my sake, I went to check my car. When I did though, I found a notice on my windshield stating, “You are illegally parked”. When I saw it, a feeling of dread came over me. What was I going to do? After some frantic calling around of friends, I ended up parking temporarily behind Henrick’s apartment building. I was praying that I wouldn’t get ticketed there.

At the very least, to keep my mind busy, Dani paid the house a visit, so most of the house was immersed in gossip and conversation. It was a bit relieving.

So, night came and went, and now here we are, the day after last. I was able to get a spot at the UWP parking lots, but it cost me $115. Also, it’s 10 minutes away from home. Oh well, really, what can you do, right? The worst is over, so it seems. Hopefully things will get better over time. However, the big concern now is all about the fourth year design project as well as passing my work term report.

This hurts man. All these parking issues that were never supposed to be a problem. Jason doesn’t have it as bad as it could be. Last night, my (only) computer stopped turning on, and after a trip to the shop it’s either fixed on $15 or I need a new motherboard. Fingers crossed. And to add to the ‘kick me while I’m down’, my cell won’t recognize that I changed the #. So now every incoming phone call costs me. And all these problems don’t even take school stuff into account. That’s a whole new issue.

It’s been a tough week for us all. It’s almost over, ya?

WTR will come and go. FYDP will come and go.
    It’s all good.
