Oh, Jebus, what a day. Last night, Henrick and I were scrambling to get a document for our database class written up. We’ve written so many of these spec documents in the past that we seriously figured that this document was going to be relatively simple. I mean, 10-15 pages…how bad could it be? Ugh. It just figures that this would be like the document from hell.
I mean, before the start of the term, we decided to take the database course because we wanted a relatively easy ride. Now, looking at the notes and the textbook for the course, it’s all so hard to understand. No, we’re not thick or anything, it’s just that the text is full of technical and algebraic mumbo jumbo that’s not that easy to mentally digest. It’s all so very dry. I can’t stay awake in that class at all. Same thing happened here, really. We were working in the living room, trying to understand everything that was going on, but when 2 amrolled around, I thought just couldn’t take it anymore and I took a nap. I ended up waking up at 5. I had to nudge him awakeso that we could get back to the document.
At about 8, Raluca comes down tellingus to look at the school’s website. We weren’t getting a proper connection, so she just showed us the announcement: snow day!
Oh hell, when was the last time I’ve experienced a snow day? It’s been ages. The idea almost seemed foreign to me, which is ridiculous. Living in a winter climate, as a kid, I used to look forward to days when the buses were cancelled. No school. It’s just that now that I’m in my mid-twenties (!) the idea of missing school due to a inclement weather is…odd, know what I mean?
Anyway, the document is now due tomorrow. And here we are scrambling to get things together. Some things don’t change, eh?
