I have another shift today going from 4 p.m. to midnight. I was about 10 minutes late. When I got to the streetcar, I knew that I was going to be late so I phoned in to let people know that I wasn’t going to arrive on time.
See, I’m usually good with timing. I’m usually punctual. Today though…I dunno what was off.
(Actually, yeah…I probably should have made a ten minute pit stop at the Scarborough Town Centre to pick up B’s new CD and a bag of Skittles and Reese’s Pieces at Bulk Barn…
But none of that happened.
Really.)
I’ll try to do some live blogging tonight. We’ll see how it goes.

When I came in, my manager did a mocking “tsk tsk” in disapproval. I quickly went, “you’re lukcy I even showed up at all.” After which I quickly added: “actually, I’m lucky I showed up, aren’t I? ^^;; ”
Diiiiiiarrrrrhea.

A few months ago, I folded together a paper model of a goombah (of Mario fame). It sits on top of my computer. When I came in this afternoon, someone stuck a Spider-man figurine on my computer monitor. It looks like it’s climbing up towards the goombah which is looking down on Spidey.
I took a picture, which I’ll post up when I get home.

Couldn’t stand that damn figurine blocking out half my screen. Posted it back on the wall where it once was.

Holy crap, I am eating so poorly right now. On top of the Skittles and Reese’s Pieces (that I did not buy today…) were the leftover Skittle from my last late shift, half a can of Pringles and a bag of Mini Oreos which I have thankfully not opened yet today.
But behind me is another guy who is monitoring the graphs for another department. He just gave me a packet of instant latte powder and a piece of Bueno.
I’m almost in no mood to eat my proper dinner which I actually packed today.
What the hell. I just know I’m going to end up breaking out after this.

So, to top off all of this food, I ate the food that I brought: chili on top of a bed of rice. Yes. Chili.
There-a gonna be a rumblin’ tonight-a.
(Pity the guy sitting behind me)

So, that kind of reminds me of the other night when I had the graveyard shift. I was alone and feeling queasy. I passed gas in my area, but was mindful that the systems guy might have to actually venture into my area–to my embarrassment.
Well, as it turns out, I had to go venture into his area to ask him a question…
I sensed he had passed as much gas as I did.
Looovely.

The cleaners are in now. The sound of the vacuum is drowning out my music. Though…on some of these tracks I’m listening to it actually kind of fits.

You know, this eight hour shift seemed to fly by.
When I arrived, there were still people here working one normal shift stuff. Later, being able to communicate with the guy behind me really did help to pass the time. Though I wonder how much of it is because of the fact that I’m listening to a CD: I’m on the 5th pass through the tracklist.
One more hour to go.

I see that the guy who’s taking the midnight shift after me is currently online.
I am tempted to message him and say “Get the fuck over here!” I will refrain from doing so to prevent myself from perpetuating the idea that I am an asswipe.
