Tonight I drove in for one of those off-the-schedule runs. I was expecting a total of 6-8 people, but only two others showed. It’s kind of too bad because a larger social group is more fun. However, I knew the two that showed up well enough so that we could have good conversations along the way.

Overall, the late-evening weather made a huge difference compared to my other runs. Seriously. In comparison to those daytime runs where I’d feel like a hot damp mess by the end, I felt great for the whole run. I was still a damp mess, but it was a cooler damp mess. We ended up doing three 10 minute intervals. I hadn’t ran that strongly in quite a while. I was really happy about it.

After stretching out, I checked my heart rate monitor just to see my stats for this great run. However, when I looked at it, the numbers were really weird. I pressed a few buttons and when I got no response I realized that my watch was frozen! It froze about 1 minute into the run. Damn it! I wanted to see if my heart rate was out of control or not.
