I recently switched over to using Febreze air fresheners in the house. We have a few of them in the house and they’re not all that bad. Because they’re alright, I decided to get one for my room. I didn’t want to get the same scent as my bathroom so after some hunting I settled on autumn spice/harvest festivities. Why the heck did I choose that one? The smell evoked some sort of response that reminded me of the autumn palette that I’ve sort of been envisioning for my new place. Heh…that last sentence made me think of synesthesia.
When I got home, I plugged it in and took a nap. At first it was alright, but after a while it started to become a little too overwhelming. I had to wake up to unplug the things. It was way too spiced for my sleeping space–I’d rather have something a little more mellow. I left my room for a few moments and when I came back I was met with a wall of a weird melange of anise and nutmeg not suitable for a bedroom. Sounds alright, but when in a confined space it just becomes a bit nauseating. Maybe if I was into sploshing with festive food? Err…even then, I think.
Thus continues my tendency to pick inappropriate scents for my space. Instead I sent it to the main floor of the house. At least there’s more space there to make the scent less concentrated. I really need to resolve to not pick something ridiculous next time I’m in Walmart. I will get this right one day.
