Just a bit of a V-day round up, I guess.

The following has been my MSN avatar for the past two weeks or so.

An anti-VDay candy heart

It’s tongue-in-cheek and yet quite representative of how many feel about today. For me, I suppose I’m not too concerned about being single, even though society might be trying to bat me over the head with the fact that I should probably be seeing someone. I can thank my job for giving the day a whole other meaning. Since V-day is one of the biggest days for the client I’m dealing with, the lead up to today has been a stressful time. It’s sort of like developing some sort of weird aversion through negative reinforcement. This damn day has made me work through last Saturday and Sunday at midnight, effectively forfeiting my weekend.

So yes. “Die.”

On the flip side, there are lots of other people that are in the spirit. As I was walking down Richmond St. to work it looked like someone was busy last night spray painting hearts all over the snow banks lining the street.

So, alright, as much as I’m not big on today, this made me smile. It’s just so unexpected and random, and yet totally appropriate.

Anyway, Happy V-day to those who have someone to share it with. And to everyone else, uh…Happy…Thursday?
