I’m feeling a little off-balance today with the knowledge that I don’t have to show up for work until 4pm tomorrow. My work schedule over the next week and a half is once again going to be thrown into chaos. Unlike last year, there are less of us to cover all of the shifts, so this time I have to cover two midnight shifts. Oooh, that’s going to be tough. It just so happens that my graveyard shifts will take place on the weekend. I don’t want to lament over that too much because really, someone has to take those shifts, you know? I’ve never done a graveyard before during the weekend, so it’s going to be interesting. See, the shifts are going to take place during the busy nights for the nightclub below. So…I’m going to have to deal with the relentless unh-tiss unh-tiss and heavy bass, as well as the cigarette smoke leaking in from the fire escape. Greeeat.
Well, like I said, tomorrow I have the 4pm-12am shift. I need to drop by Wal-mart tomorrow morning to pick up some snacks and other provisions to keep me sane. I might do some live blogging during these weird shifts. Who knows. Let’s hope that nothing bad happens and that my shift will be uneventful. Fingers crossed!
