So, one of the things I have to do prior to this new running clinic is write up a little bio and send in a picture to accompany the thing. I tried to sound as inspiring as possible, because, really, if I can overcome my inertial tendencies and mental barriers that accompany being a “back-packer” then anyone can. I’ve come a long way in two years, you know?
Anyway, for the picture I was really struggling to come up with something that I wanted to represent what I’m all about. I didn’t have any strong running photos in my archives, so I was stuck wondering what the heck to do. I had that picture of me holding a piece of spam with chopsticks. I was actually considering sending that one in just for a laugh, but smartly decided to not go ahead with that plan. Instead, I changed into my running gear and got my mother to help me by taking some photos.
Well, those pictures turned out well but I felt that they were kind of plain for my tastes. A lot of people had some nice pictures of them smiling and running in a race. I wanted one of those! I didn’t want to use any photos from my last half-marathon because in those ones I was hunched over and seemingly in pain. Not cool or inspiring at all. There was one race in particular that had some really cool photos of me as I was coming into the finish line. That was at last year’s Angus Glen 10K. Thing is, the photos were on a sports photographer’s website. In the end, I decided to purchase some digital copies because I figured that that would be a cool picture to have in my profile. It’s dynamic! It’s strong! I look like a man on a mission!
Well, I sent it in by email. That would have been it, but I added a note saying that I could send in some photos that had me smiling if they wanted something friendlier. I was half-serious, but really, I thought the photo was so cool that it would all be good. Oops. Nope, they asked for other photos. That’s what I get, eh? So, I ended up sending in some of the plain photos taken at home. We’ll have to see which one they end up choosing.

I strongly recommend that you turn the No Follow off in your comment section. I’ll watch Google Webmaster Tools, and if the links don’t show up after a couple of weeks — I won’t go back to that blog again. Another suggestion: you should have a Top Commentator widget installed. Do Follow and Top Commentator will ensure that you have a successful blog with lots of readers!

Thanks for the tips. I’ll consider them when it comes time to tweak the blog again!
