Urban morning, evening storm

Just some pictures in this post. First, some pictures from Saturday morning. I had to drop my mother off at the train station downtown. After I left her, since it was early I decided to just take a walk up Yonge Street. There really wasn’t much out there. Seeing it so quiet was such a strange feeling. I got one picture of a pigeon picking at a pool of vomit from someone who’d partied too hard last night. Over at Yonge-Dundas Square they were preparing for some sort of Indian festival.

On Saturday evening, a furious storm passed through. The rains were fierce and the lightning flashed brightly. Within minutes the rain stopped. Due to the time of day, the sun was positioned perfectly relative to the rain clouds such that a pair of vivid rainbows appeared. Seriously, these pictures don’t do justice to what I saw. Nature still has the power to surprise me.
