So, K, H, and I were looking for a room to watch a movie in. Our usual empty classrooms weren’t empty so we went exploring. there are so many buildings that we haven’t seen in all the five years we’ve been here. Each one is unique and beautiful. Exploring them Almost feels like we’re on Amazing Race
Each is a new world to us who are really only familiar w/ Eng. Should do this more often.

Exploring the unexplored
Incompetent Bell
Bell hasn’t exactly been on the ball with our accounts lately. You see, it’s only today that our land line has been activated. This is despite them saying that everything was activated properly on the 2nd. So, today we plugged in the modem, hoping internet would be live. Nope. I called tech support and they informed of that my move order was cancelled by someone. Wtf?
Ironing board desk

So yeah, this pic is for the benefit of those who need a mental image to realize just how pathetisad my desk was.
Just so you know, I’ve now got a more traditional desk.
Kick here!
I’ve come home for a short break before my next class. As I plopped down onto my chair, I suddenly realized how I’ve been generally unhappy as of the past day or two. Yesterday in particular went from decent to a total piece of shit on a stick. I stayed up until 2 a.m. last night with Raluca worrying about things we shouldn’t have to worry about. It’s now the next day, and I’m still riding on several lows that just won’t disappear.
Anyway, let’s start off with some good points. Japanese class is more fun than I thought it would be. It consists of an hour of class with Maruoka-sensei, followed by two hours of tutorials by Koga-san. Time flew by as we were practicing dialogue. Hajimemashite! As Henrick and I were about to leave, someone called out my name. It took me a moment to get my thoughts together and figure out who it was. As it turns out, Karen, a friend of Raien and Yuki, was also in the class. Now, I had thought that she had already graduated, so, it didn’t necessarily click that it was her, right away. In any case, seeing her and talking to her was refreshing. It’s always fun to see people that you hadn’t talked to in a long while. Who knows. Maybe Karen could become another good friend of mine.
I met up with Raluca in my next class, after which we went to Curry in a Hurry. Everything was going right. On the way home, however, things started sprialling downwards. She complained briefly about walking on the outside on the chance that some car would splash us. I insisted to her that no driver would be bastard-like and intentionally splash us. Of course, when you make statements like that, it’s like you’re painting a huge cosmic arrow sign with bells and whistles on your ass stating, “KICK HERE!” We got heavily splashed by some bastard who intentionally went out of their way to hit the big puddles on the side of the road. Figures.
When we got home, we saw a letter on the stairs. It was from the landlord stating that there is only one parking space per house. Anyone parking in a non-assigned spot would be ticketed. Of course, that’s a huge problem considering that we had three cars. Upon reading it, there was a big discussion in the house regarding the spaces. Chris was stating from experience that after a while, there would be some empty spots. Meanwhile though, there were a glut of cars in the lot, with many parking at the side because of people taking there spots. The general concensus among us was to just ride out the storm and hope that something would open up. After making that resolution, we relaxed just a tad. However, Raluca and I were still full of doubts. At about 10, for my sake, I went to check my car. When I did though, I found a notice on my windshield stating, “You are illegally parked”. When I saw it, a feeling of dread came over me. What was I going to do? After some frantic calling around of friends, I ended up parking temporarily behind Henrick’s apartment building. I was praying that I wouldn’t get ticketed there.
At the very least, to keep my mind busy, Dani paid the house a visit, so most of the house was immersed in gossip and conversation. It was a bit relieving.
So, night came and went, and now here we are, the day after last. I was able to get a spot at the UWP parking lots, but it cost me $115. Also, it’s 10 minutes away from home. Oh well, really, what can you do, right? The worst is over, so it seems. Hopefully things will get better over time. However, the big concern now is all about the fourth year design project as well as passing my work term report.
Going solo
So, I sit here in my room in Waterloo thinking, “man, this was one hell of a day”. This was the first time in all the times I’ve moved back and forth that I’ve done so without any help from my parents. It was just me, the Sunfire, and all the crap I decided to bring along. Thing is, each time in the past, we always brought everything in the minivan. Inevitably, that meant bringing around an excessive amount of stuff. This time, I attempted to go as light as I could. Man, if you could only see my room now. It’s bare bones, really. Quite ghetto. I’m using an ironing board as my desk for my laptop. Once I retrieve my SD card for my phone, I’ll take a pic. It’s kinda sad, but amusing.
This time, at the suggestion of my mother, I decided to not bring my desktop. Sure, that really helped to lighten the load, but I had my reservations. I was wondering for a good while whether there was anything on there that I needed to send along to the notebook. Plus, I’d never left if behind before. This was another first. As it is, I’m getting used ot typing on this thing. I’m making a lot more typos and what not, but whatever.
So, that’s about it. I’ll be around.
Eng Sneer
The other day, Rahul sent me a lot of pics that he had of me from the days leading up to Frosh Week 2004. One of them was this picture in the Engineering Society Office.

It’s like I have this sneer on my face. I don’t remember what the context of the photo was, but the composition makes me laugh. I think it’s a good reflection of how I feel about the program.
Something smells rotten
The roommate I share a bathroom with went home this weekend. He left behind though a stew of sorts in his rice cooker. I’m sure it was good at one point, but over the weekend it started smelling rotten. In fact, I think I can smell the stench inside my room. It’s sort of making me want to wretch.
I’m not particularly happy about it right now, but I’m not about to clean up his mess. This is just adding to my list of current grievances.
Rogers can’t find me
Living in a university residence can sometimes make it difficult to receive mail. There’s the University’s main address, but somehow mail has to be directed over here to where I’m living. Bell has been pretty good in that they’ve been able to send me mail properly. Rogers on the other hand, not so much. They’ve been sending my cable bills to 200 E University Avenue W. Lovely. That isn’t enough info to get bills over to where I live. I’ve just gone online in an attempt to change my address myself, however, the address form is so severely limited that there’s just no way for me to put all the information on there. That’s kind of piss-poor of them. No wonder I haven’t received any bills. All of a sudden, I’ve been marked as someone who can’t pay on time. It’s not my bloody fault, now, is it?
