Ear to the ground

My ear’s to the ground,
and I hear distant rumbling.
Changes be afoot.

Seeing who blinks first.
Think some will just move onward:
Got bored of waiting.

Looking for some peace.
Seeking what all humans want:
Appreciation.

Not sure what to do!
Uncertainty weighs heavy.
Burden will break us.

Making us stagnant.
Meanwhile we’ll keep on going.
Life: never simple.

Shift haikus

7:57pm
Alone in office:
Developer watching graphs
Rather watch TV.

7:58pm
Odour wafting here.
Nightclub deep-frying dinner
for greasy clubbers.

8:14pm
Peered out the window.
Cooks are frying cajun fries.
I bloody want some.

8:39pm
Chicken shawarma:
Tasty, but sitting heavy–
Concentration lost.

8:52pm
Party has started
There’s a lot of crash boom bang
They drunk already?

9:14pm
After dinner hours:
People coming back to surf
And to buy, buy, buy.

9:42pm
No problems with site.
Just sitting here killing time:
I’m going insane.

9:45pm
Oh my, how retro!
I think that’s Kool & the Gang:
Celebrate good times!

10:02pm
Nightclub is mashing
Sexyback with Billie Jean.
It’s cacophony.

11:06pm
Had issue to fix.
Stress levels went really high:
Just wanted some peace.

11:27pm
I want to go sleep,
To find comfort in my bed
And not this damn cube.
